Crown logging on Bowen Island

In summer 2017, Bowen Island Municipality was advised that BC Timber Sales (BCTS) intends to pursue industrial-scale logging of five areas of the Crown lands of Bowen Island.

We have created a page on our website to keep members of the public up to date on the Municipality's involvement in this proposal and will continue to update it as the process unfolds.

Snug Cove Parking

More changes are coming to parking in Snug Cove in 2017. With construction underway on the Cove Commons building, the parking lot on the North side of the Library has been removed and the parking lot on the West side is now a combination of Library parking and three hour parking.

Invested in Safety: A New Fire Hall for Bowen Island

There will be a referendum on August 19, 2017 for Bowen Island electors to decide whether Bowen Island Municipality can borrow the funds needed to build a new Fire Hall and Emergency Operations Centre on part of Lot 3 of the Community Lands.

Bowen Island Municipality has resumed its work to develop and initiate a Climate Action Program that addresses reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, carbon neutrality and other emerging climate-related issues.
