Economic Development Committee seeking new members 

The Economic Development Committee (EDC) aims to facilitate economic development on Bowen Island and provide advice to Council on such matters. The Committee is seeking energetic members committed to working toward this goal. Volunteer responsibilities include:

•    Developing and facilitating action plans to implement economic strategies further enhancing Bowen Island as an ideal business and investment location;
•    Organizing, facilitating and participating in efforts to implement economic strategies and initiatives; 
•    Recommending programs to recognize and reward achievements;
•    Facilitating broad public involvement in economic development and providing educational opportunities related to planning and implementation;
•    Providing advice and recommendations to Council; and 
•    Contributing to a monthly meeting.

If you are interested in joining the EDC, please download a committee application form and submit your application by Friday, December 2nd to Stef Shortt, Economic Development Liaison at bim@bimbc.ca. You may also obtain a paper copy of the application form from Municipal Hall at 981 Artisan Lane.

Community Grants Advisory Committee seeking new members

The Community Grants Advisory Committee (CGAC) provides recommendations to Council on Community Grants, Grants-in-Aid and Permissive Tax Exemptions that will enhance quality of life while delivering economic services to Bowen Island residents. CGAC is seeking new members for a three (3) year term.
Volunteer responsibilities include:

•    Meeting approximately four times a year to consider Grant, Grant-in-Aid and Permissive Tax Exemption Applications
•    Reviewing and assessing the application packages prior to meetings
•    Working with Municipal staff to ensure that the application process is fair and transparent
•    Providing recommendations to Council
