Bowen is at a crossroads. Twelve years after incorporation, much has been accomplished, but we need to do things differently if we are to thrive. We are entering an era of genuine fiscal constraints. That means doing everything smarter - using partners, leveraging assets, having a forward thinking Council. I ask to be part of that team.
Passing our OCP update was a major step; now we need to genuinely bring it to life. An example: overcoming barriers to Snug Cove revitalization- that includes infrastructure financing and completion, plan implementation, parking and traffic. Flowing from these issues are opportunities to finally create more affordable housing, our desired community centre, and a true village.
I bring ten years of experience, knowledge, enthusiasm and level-headedness for the position of Councillor. I was also a Municipal Trustee for three terms and earlier was on the APC and previous OCP working groups. I acted as an appointed GVRD alternate 1990-91.
Currently I sit as the Metro Vancouver Director, am on the Metro Parks and Agriculture Committees, Lower Mainland Treaty Advisory Committee and also am the delegate for the Mayors’ Council (Translink). I also chair the Sea-to-Sky Air Quality Society
Active municipal interests are parks, culture and recreation, land use management, liaison to the Greenways Committee and Zero Waste Bowen.
I am well known for being an environmental ‘centrist’, work very hard serving constituents, always responding quickly to concerns. Researching issues, communicating regularly- often posting clarifications on the Phorum and in the Undercurrent.
Please allow me to continue working for you.
