Recreation services are built through the provision of services based on the needs of residents, and the Community Recreation Department facilitates the community's pursuit of leisure opportunities and healthy community initiatives. Staff work in partnership with groups, clubs, sport, cultural and other community organizations to deliver a broad spectrum of recreation and cultural services. Staff work with the Parks and Recreation Commission to accomplish community goals, receive feedback on quality of service and act as liaison for community-wide special events.

The Bowen Community Recreation Department provides a variety of recreation experiences for residents and non-residents through the programming at the following locations:

  • Bowen Island Community School
    • Community Use Room
    • Gymnasium
    • Multi-Purpose Room
    • Teen Centre
  • The Gallery at Artisan Square
  • Cates Hill Chapel
